A New Take on Tanked

The original Tanked introduced a symbol-eating mechanic built around characters moving around the grid and collecting matching symbols. Tanked 3: First Blood 2 keeps that central idea but changes how rewards work.

The game begins with a 4-5-6-5-6-5-4 grid, which can expand when certain features trigger. The grid can eventually reach a much larger 9-10-11-12-13-12-11-10-9 layout, revealing additional feature symbols as it grows.

Four characters move around the grid, each linked to one of four gem colours. Characters collect matching gems and can also pick up Wilds, while explosions and other features remove symbols and create new opportunities for the action to continue.

How to Play Tanked 3: First Blood 2

Playing Tanked 3: First Blood 2 at an online casino is simple to get started with, although there's plenty happening once the characters begin moving around the grid.

3. Watch as the characters move around the grid and collect matching gems.

xLoot and Gem Levels

The xLoot system is at the heart of Tanked 3: First Blood 2. Each of the four characters is linked to a specific gem colour, and characters collect gems matching their own colour as they move around the grid.

Each gem has seven payout levels. The lowest values range from 0.05x to 0.15x, while the highest level can pay between 3x and 10x the stake.

Gem levels can increase when characters eliminate other characters. Every character killed raises the relevant gem's payout level by one, giving the action taking place around the grid a direct impact on potential payouts.

Coins and Coinburst

Coins are another major addition to Tanked 3: First Blood 2. Individual Coins can carry values ranging from 1x to 5,000x the stake.

When a character collects a Coin, its value is awarded. If that character is subsequently killed, any Coins it has collected can be dropped back onto the grid, although their winnings have already been awarded.

Coinburst can be even more significant. When a character collects a Coinburst symbol, every position that the characters have travelled across can be transformed into Coins, provided those positions contain an empty space, gem or Wild.

Tank Boosters

The characters have access to five different Tank Boosters, each capable of clearing parts of the grid.

Rocket

The character fires a rocket towards an enemy, removing characters and paying symbols within the resulting explosion. It also expands the grid by one step.

Loot Rocket

Loot Rocket works similarly but also collects feature symbols dropped by defeated characters and newly revealed feature symbols from grid expansions, with the exception of Bombs.

Grenade

The Grenade targets a random character and removes characters and paying symbols caught in its explosion.

Hatchet

The Hatchet targets the character carrying it, clearing characters and paying symbols around the impact area while leaving the character holding the weapon in place.

Airstrike

The Airstrike targets two or three enemy characters, clearing them and the paying symbols around them.

Characters removed by Tank Boosters return when the symbols avalanche and retain any Tank Boosters they had collected.

Bombs and Grid Expansions

Tanked 3: First Blood 2 includes two types of Bomb. A regular Bomb expands in one direction, while the Three Way Bomb expands across three directions.

Bombs activate when the characters can no longer move and the available Tank Boosters have been used. The resulting explosions remove characters and paying symbols before expanding the grid in the direction of the blast.

As the grid gets larger, new sections can reveal additional feature symbols, giving later stages of a round more room for the action to develop.

Pickpocket and Booms

The characters can also trigger features when they become stuck next to one another.

When two characters are adjacent and neither can move, one may receive a Tank Booster, Coinburst or Scatter.

Three adjacent characters can trigger Small Boom. The character capable of removing the most symbols explodes, clearing nearby characters and paying symbols while also increasing the payout level of matching gems.

When four characters become adjacent and cannot move, Big Boom activates. The characters explode, removing symbols and increasing the grid by one step. All gems also receive a +1 payout level.

xGlitch and Kill Drop

xGlitch can appear when a character has only one symbol available to collect. Instead of a normal avalanche, only feature symbols are allowed to fall into the empty spaces.

This can repeat between four and 50 times, potentially creating a long sequence of feature drops.

Kill Drop comes into play when a character is eliminated. The character can drop a Coin and any Coins it had collected onto nearby positions, while also potentially leaving behind a Tank Booster, Bomb, Three Way Bomb, Scatter or Coinburst.
